Online Payment Gateways

Our Booking Service gives you the option of two payment gateways, eWay and Paypal.

eWay works with a merchant facility that you get from your bank, and talks to all major Australian banks. A merchant facility allows you to take payments by credit/debit card and hooks up to eWay which handles the on-line gateway.

eWay transfers your funds into your bank account overnight, automatically.

Paypal costs more per transaction but has no annual fees and is easier and quicker for you to set up. It’s ideal for smaller clubs. Members (and the public) do not need a Paypal account and can use a credit or debit card directly. However, opening a Paypal account means you do not need to enter credit card details each time you book.

Paypal doesn’t transfer funds to your club’s bank automatically, so you have to login and request a transfer to your bank.

Paypal charges 2.6% + $0.30 per transaction

You can get cheaper rates from Paypal if you have sufficient volume, but at volume, eWay plus your bank will be cheaper.
