Bug fixes and duplicate bookings

Today we found and fixed one more bug when handling abandoned bookings, which occurred only when paging forward from the current month initially displayed.  Some of these bugs could have allowed a duplicate booking to be made, and one or two of these have been reported, so we are hoping we have closed the door on that problem as well.  The fix is in your website now.

More Paypal buttons!

Also in your websites today is an expanded screen for cancelling or paying for bookings already made.  Where previously you entered a booking ID and contact name to cancel a booking this now takes you to a screen with all the details of the booking and two new buttons alongside “cancel” – “Pay online” and if deposits are enabled also “pay deposit”.

Still to come:  better email handling for people who Paypal on the original booking – at the moment they get a “TENTATIVE” email even if they paid.

ADMINEDIT bookings

Note that if you take a booking from the admin area back to the “public screens” – so you can change dates for example – you must complete the operation by clicking on “finish” on any of the screens.  Otherwise the booking stays in limbo and correct information about it can’t be displayed to other people looking at the site.  The booking will display as “tentative” to other site users while it is in the “ADMINEDIT” status.  If you need to recover a booking that has been left in this state, go back to that booking as administrator, take it back to the “public” screens and click on “finish”.

What should we do to close off this ADMINEDIT problem?

(a) we could automate an email sent at 2AM daily listing any outstanding ADMINEDIT bookings (with links to take you direct to the bookings in question).  The email would go to the booking officer address in your configuration.

(b) we could give you a screen which lists them, that you can browse on demand.

Which option would work best for you?
